Q: What material are the pipes made out of?
A: PLA (Polylactic Acid). PLA is derived from renewable resources such as sugars and starches.
Q: What material are the flexible threads made out of?
A: TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane).
Q: Is the plastic toxic?
A: No. As long as a glass bowl/slide is properly used while smoking the plastic does not produce any toxic or harmful fumes.
Q: Will the heat from smoking melt the plastic?
A: No. PLA is a “thermoplastic” meaning that it is meant to be heated up to change its form, however, it takes a great amount of heat, much hotter than smoke, to actually melt the plastic.
Q: Are the pipes good for the environment?
A: Yes! The pipes and all products made from PLA are biodegradable because PLA is a bioplastic.
Q: How do I clean the pipes?
A: We have found that the BEST possible solution to clean the pipes is with salt, warm water, and isopropyl alcohol. Pour salt directly into the pipe, add some warm water (not hot water), add some isopropyl alcohol and shake vigorously. Rinse thoroughly and repeat as many times as necessary. Do not ever put it in the dishwasher, not even the top shelf! Avoid using  super hot water as the super hot water may warp the pipe.
Q. What are Lifters and points of diffusion?
Ideas behind the Lifters (the percolators)
  • Definition of Point of Diffusion: a little hole that smoke flows through and becomes thinner.
  • The more points of diffusion, the thinner the smoke.
  • The thinner the smoke, the easier it is for your lungs to inhale.
  • The easier it is to inhale, the larger the amount of inhalation.
  • The larger the inhalation, the more of an effect.
Q: How long does it take for the glow in the dark plastic to charge and how long does it glow for?
A: Depends on the material, most charge within seconds and glow for at least an hour. Works best in UV light (blacklight). Some may charge in seconds and glow for only a few seconds.
Q: What is the size and weight of each part?
A: The size and weight for each part is listed under Additional Information on each product page.
